Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data is collected on fauna-morocco.org, for what purposes, and your rights — in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for EU visitors, the GDPR.

Data we collect

• Contact form: your name, email address and the content of your message.
• Donations: the amount and the information needed to process the donation. Payment details (card, etc.) are handled directly by our provider Payrexx AG; we do not have full access to them.
• Audience measurement: via Matomo, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves on our own server. It runs without cookies and records aggregated browsing data (pages viewed, device and browser type, referrer) with your IP address anonymised (last 2 bytes masked). No data is sent to third-party advertising or analytics companies.
• Technical logs: our host records connection data (IP address, timestamp) for security and proper operation.

Purposes and legal bases

We process this data to respond to your requests, process and track donations, measure audience and improve the site, and ensure security and proper operation. Depending on the case, processing is based on the performance of an action you request (donation, reply) or the association's legitimate interest (measuring audience without cookies, security, improvement of the site).

Recipients and processors

Your data may be shared with our providers, only as necessary: Payrexx AG (Switzerland) — payments; Hostinger International Ltd — hosting. Our audience-measurement tool (Matomo) is self-hosted, so analytics data stays with us and is not shared with any third party. We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Transfers outside Switzerland / the EU

Our providers operate in Switzerland and the European Union, and your data is processed there. We do not transfer your data to advertising or analytics third parties. Should a provider process data outside Switzerland/the EU, it is covered by appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or recognised protection mechanisms).

Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary for the purposes above (e.g. the time to handle your request, or the legal period applicable to donations), then delete or anonymise it. Aggregated, anonymised audience statistics may be kept longer, as they no longer identify you.

Your rights

Under the FADP and the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and restriction, the right to withdraw consent at any time and, where applicable, to data portability. To exercise these rights, write to contact@fauna-morocco.org. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence in the EU.

Cookies

This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies, so no consent banner is required. Our audience measurement (Matomo) works without cookies. The only item stored in your browser is a small functional preference — the language you choose — kept locally on your device and never used to track you.
