Our Mission

Fauna Morocco was created with a clear purpose: to build a comprehensive, freely accessible digital platform dedicated to showcasing and promoting awareness of Morocco's rich and diverse fauna.

Morocco hosts an extraordinary diverse wildlife, from reptiles and amphibians to mammals and birds, including many endemic species found nowhere else on Earth. While specialist resources exist for educated enthusiasts, researchers and experts, there is a gap in accessible information for environmentally conscious people who want to learn more about these fascinating creatures.

Through high-quality photography, engaging content, and scientific accuracy, we aim to bridge this gap and foster a deeper appreciation for Morocco's natural heritage, ultimately inspiring conservation efforts for species that often receive less attention.

Our Goals

Document all reptile & amphibian species native to Morocco with standardized, high-quality photographs.
Gradually expand our coverage to include Moroccan mammals & birds.
Create wildlife content that is scientifically accurate yet accessible to non-specialists.
Raise awareness about conservation challenges facing less-known Moroccan wildlife.
Gradually make the website accessible in Arabic and Amazigh to reach both local and international audiences.
Complement existing scientific resources by focusing on visual appeal and educational accessibility.

Meet the Team

Rayane Vuillemin

Founder & Wildlife Photographer

Casablanca born and raised, Rayane is the Moroccan of the team. His lifelong passion for animals led him to photography. He has been photographing wildlife for almost 6 years now. Combining his appreciation for Morocco and for Animals only seemed logical.

Colin Ruffieux

Biologist & Conservationist

A long-term reptile enthusiast, Colin is currently pursuing a master's degree in conservation biology, focusing on chameleons in Madagascar. As the scientific backbone of the team, he contributes both in the field and through his theoretical expertise, ensuring accuracy and rigor in our work.

Clément Castella

Project Facilitator

Clément has always been fascinated by the natural world, from the smallest insects to towering trees. Less of a specialist and more of an all-rounder, his adaptability and steady presence help keep things grounded when enthusiasm runs wild.
